Getting started

What does AutoFitment do?

AutoFitment adds vehicle compatibility ("fitments") to your eBay parts listings. It reads the OE and part numbers in your listings, looks them up in a professional parts catalogue, and writes the matching vehicles to eBay for you. Listings with fitments appear in eBay's "Fits your vehicle" search.

What do I need to get started?
  • An eBay seller account with vehicle-parts listings.
  • OE or part numbers in your listings' item specifics (for example Reference OE/OEM Number).
  • A subscription plan. You choose it in the onboarding wizard after you register; payment is handled by Stripe.
What happens during onboarding?

A five-step wizard: welcome, your business details, connecting your eBay store, choosing a plan, done. Connecting eBay opens eBay's own sign-in page in a new tab: you approve access there, and AutoFitment never sees your eBay password. Card details are entered on Stripe's payment page only.

Signing in and your account

What are the password rules?

Passwords must be at least 10 characters long.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

There is no self-service password reset yet. Email support@autofitment.ai from the address you registered with and we will help you get back in.

Why does it say "too many attempts"?

To protect accounts against password guessing, sign-in is limited to 5 attempts per minute from the same network, and registration to 3 per hour. Wait for the time shown and try again.

How long do I stay signed in?

Up to 7 days on the same browser; after that you sign in again. On a shared computer, use the log-out button at the bottom of the sidebar.

Listings and fitments

How do my eBay listings get into AutoFitment?

Press Refresh on the Dashboard. It asks eBay for a report of your active listings and imports it in the background; a progress bar shows how far it is and you can keep working. Press Refresh again whenever you have added or changed listings on eBay. If the progress bar stops moving for a long time, use Stuck? Reset and start again.

What do the listing statuses mean?
PENDING
Not checked yet. Validation runs automatically in the background.
READY
Compatible vehicles were found in the catalogue. You can upload them to eBay.
NO OE
No usable OE or part number was found in the listing (see below).
NO FITMENT
An OE number was found, but the catalogue has no vehicles for it.
Uploaded
Fitments were uploaded to eBay. The listing is locked against duplicate uploads.
FROZEN
The listing is over your plan's listing limit (see Billing below).
Why does a listing show NO OE?

AutoFitment found no OE number, part number or EAN in the listing's item specifics (for example Reference OE/OEM Number, Manufacturer Part Number or EAN; the local-language names used on other eBay sites work too), and could not read the vehicle make and model from the title either. Add the number to the listing on eBay, then press Refresh so the listing is imported and checked again. Hover over the status to see the exact reason.

Why does a listing show NO FITMENT?

The OE number was read correctly but the catalogue has no vehicles for it yet. Check the number for typos. If it is correct, catalogue data may be added later: press Revalidate after a catalogue update to check all your listings again.

Can I see which vehicles will be uploaded?

Yes. Click a listing's fitment indicator to open its fitment panel: vehicle, body, fuel, power, years and, where mapped, the eBay KType.

How do I find specific listings?

Use Filter to narrow the list by status (All, Ready, Pending, No Fitment, Applied), category, eBay site (shown as a country), part brand and vehicle make. To look up a single OE number in the catalogue, use OE Search in the sidebar.

Uploading fitments to eBay

How do I upload fitments?
  1. Filter by Ready.
  2. Tick the listings, or use the header checkbox to select every visible row. Only READY listings can be selected.
  3. Press Upload Fitments (n). The upload runs in the background.
  4. Open Upload History to follow it: each listing shows success or the exact message eBay returned.
eBay rejected some fitments. Why?

Upload History shows eBay's own message for each listing. The most common cause on eBay UK is a vehicle without a KType: eBay UK only accepts vehicles it can identify by KType. Send us the item number through the support chat if the message is unclear.

Can I remove fitments I uploaded?

Not from your own account. Ask us in the support chat, with the eBay item number: an administrator can remove them. This also clears the compatibility from the live eBay listing.

eBay stores

Can I connect more than one eBay store?

Yes, up to the number of eBay accounts your plan includes. Add stores under Settings → eBay Integration → Connect Another Account. When you reach your plan's limit, the button changes to an upgrade link.

The app asks me to reconnect eBay. Why?

eBay access expires, or can be revoked (for example when you change your eBay password). AutoFitment renews it automatically while eBay allows it. When eBay refuses, actions on that store fail with "eBay store reconnect required": connect the store again under Settings → eBay Integration. If your plan's store limit is already reached, contact us in the support chat and we will help you reconnect.

Does AutoFitment store my eBay password?

No. You sign in on eBay's own page. AutoFitment only keeps the access tokens eBay issues, and stores them encrypted.

Plans and billing

What do the plans differ in?

The number of listings you can manage and the number of eBay stores you can connect. Compare them under Billing → Upgrade Plan.

Why are some listings FROZEN?

You have more listings than your plan allows. Your newest listings stay active up to the limit; older ones are frozen and can't be uploaded until you upgrade. Upgrading unfreezes them.

Where are my invoices and payment methods?

Invoices are under Billing → Payment History. Payment methods are managed in the Stripe Customer Portal, which you open from the Billing page.

Your data and privacy

How do I get a copy of my data?

Settings → Your Data → Download my data gives you a JSON file with your profile and company details, subscriptions, connected eBay stores, support messages and API usage. It works with or without a subscription.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Your Data → Delete my account, then confirm with your password. Any active subscription is cancelled; your name, e-mail, company and contact details, support messages and eBay tokens are erased and you are signed out everywhere. Listing and fitment records are kept without any link to you, and Stripe keeps invoices as tax law requires. This can't be undone. Administrator accounts can't delete themselves.

Where is the privacy policy?

Partner API

How do I get an API key?

Partner accounts create keys under API Keys. The key is shown only once: copy it straight away. Revoke keys you no longer use; a revoked key stops working immediately.

What are the API limits?

By default your account allows 1,000 requests per day (the count resets at 00:00 UTC) and 50,000 rows per bulk job. The daily limit is shared by all of your API keys, so creating more keys does not add quota, and you can hold up to 5 active keys. Over the daily limit the API answers 429. Ask us if you need more.

How long are bulk job results available?

7 days after the job finishes. The Bulk Tester page lets you try a CSV file and download the results without writing code, and API Docs has examples in curl and JavaScript.
